I LOVE MY DRESS!

I've been so busy lately that I haven't been able to tell you about the latest on my dress. On Saturday, I drove out to bufu Schaumburg (and yes, it's bufu if you're driving from Old Town) for my dress fitting, and I have to say, I've never loved anything more (other than Nathan)... I know everyone says this, but it is seriously the most beautiful dress I've ever seen, much less put on! Yay for my vintage (read: preowned) Vera Wang! Yay for finding the deal of a lifetime!

Plus, the previous owner and I are basically the same size, so yay for super cheap alterations! (Here's a shot of the dress, but I'm having the Asian-esk bow/additional lines of fabric in the back removed...) I LOVE IT! I can't stop telling everyone how much I LOVE IT@!!!

the dress sounds awesome!

N, vintage vw for life!!!
D, thanks, I've been trying my hardest to stay upbeat about everything - even when my super amazing shoes are on back order until 10/30/08 and my candle ceremony is coming to a creative halt... I'm trying my best! And, I will admit, I don't think I've ever needed a mom more than I do right now... This is tough...

i forget when your wedding is, is it in november?? well *i'm* super excited to see how it turns out. i'm still in awe you found this venue!

well, what did you ever decide regarding your doc?

if you need someone to pseudo doc, aka be your day of "b****" (arrive at venue early to ensure all vendors arrive on time, cake is delivered, flowers are in hand, boutonniers are fastened, dj has proper lists, groomsmen know where to stand, photog knows who special aunt yaya is, guests know where to leave gifts, guest book is ready, there is a pen to use, favors are put out *before* guests start to leave, events run in the order specified, caterer cleans up and is out before incurring extra fees, left-behind gifts get to proper person, etc.,), just let me know --

Ha! Chicago Wedding Bloggers Unite! I swear, I would not be surprised if all of the Chicago bloggers joined forces and created a wedding planning business! Thank you so much for the offer! You are TOO NICE!

My DOC update is as follows: My friend of a friend planner who was going to DOC my wedding for almost free, flaked out on me... She wouldn't even return my calls... It was bad! So, I bit the bullet and called a professional (Honey Bee Weddings) and shelled out the cash. I must say, I've been really pleased with her. She's a total resource! Worth every cent!
